Azur is the French spelling of the color Azure. It also represents the idea “as you are”. This is my philosophy when I work with clients… I take you as you are.
Azur is also the color of the sky on a clear day and is said to represent confidence, responsibility and stability and it creates a sense of security and calmness.

I intentionally approach my practice with a focus on working with fewer clients at a time. This allows me to be more focused on my clients and their needs. In the world of healthcare and well-being, I feel that volume has taken the place of sincere attention. I believe that the process of therapy is as important as symptom reduction. I bring a variety of philosophical and evidence-based approaches as well as life experiences to my work with clients. I take care of clients by being present and focused on their needs and they take care of me by showing up authentically and committing their time and resources to the process.

I feel the term “psychotherapy” reflects more of my approach to this work. I use my extensive training and experience not only to help decrease symptoms but also to make lasting change through insights not only into what you are experiencing now, but also what other experiences in the past may contribute to how you are currently feeling and behaving.

I am trained as a generalist meaning that I do not have one particular method with which I approach the work nor do I have specific psychological issues for which I am an expert. I have studied many different approaches such as DBT, CBT, MBSR, ACT, TLDP, IFS, Gottman Method, psychoanalytic, etc therefore I can tailor treatment to the clients’ needs and what they present. I have seen many different symptom presentations across all ages and situation profiles.
I work well with anxiety, depression, issues of identity, cultural issues, existential issues, grief and loss, couples and relationship work, first-time in therapy, therapy for therapists, healing trauma, therapy for educators, ex-military and first responders.

I worked in-person up until the pandemic hit and then switched to teletherapy only. I have found that, although there can be occasional technical glitches in teletherapy, my clients feel that it provides them with more flexibility in scheduling, more comfort in choosing the environment in which they meet and less difficulties with getting to appointments.

My primary objective is to find a way for us to collaborate and connect in a way that feels safe and meaningful as you explore how you want to make a change in your life. I honor the courage it takes to engage in therapy and want to make it a process that works for you.
